Art Journal Posting 1 of 52

Week One of my 52 Weeks of Art Journal Pages

This week's challenge for Get Messy Art Journal Group was not actually a "page" but to alter the cover of book. The new season began on September 21st and is the Season of Words. The idea is to alter and use a book of our choosing for our art journal pages. This is the cover of my book. I used a pretty piece of paper and alpha stickers.  It is not too late for you to join us for the next six weeks of the Season of Words.

My Art Journal

Art Journal

My new project will be 52 weeks of art journal pages. I already create an art journal page each week for 6 weeks during each new season of Get Messy Art Journal Challenge with two weeks off between each new season. So now I will create a page for each week of the new season plus those two weeks in between. I am a fairly new participant in the Get Messy Art Journal Community. I believe this will be my fifth season beginning on September 21. First of 52 will begin on Thursday, September 24th.

This is a photo of my last art journal page with the end of the Season of Serenity and our clubs ephemera craft swap.

Planner dividers

I have always loved planning and list making. So yesterday I decided to make new pretty dividers out of the beautiful papers designed by Christy Tomlinson for the Planner Society Kits. I love these papers and made dividers for my new kikki.K A5 sized planner.

About Me

My name is Melody. Nice to meet you. I have a desire to blog but not the technical knowledge of blogging. So this is the start of my blog to see if I am capable or if I even like it.  I want to write about my home, family, projects and creative interests. I am not really a writer or photographer so I hope to improve those skills through this blog and lots of practice. I am a simple person, homemaker, empty nester, married to my love who is a retired military officer. We have lived in our home state for about four years now after a 23 year Air Force career. A whole other story that I may write about eventually. I am a mother to one son (military also), a lovely daughter-in-law and four delightful grandchildren.  I have a variety of interest as stated above but I also love thrifting, flea markets, antique shops and anywhere with "junk" as my grandmother use to say. Maybe I will "see" you soon.
